Are we In or Out?

Article 2: Animation, Computer Game and Comic Book Design
Perhaps this is an obscure concern to most in educational circles in Metro Manila, but these are the areas "where the money is". As was stated in the UE-FRASI forum, the Philippines has historically served as an offshore "sweatshop" for the animation houses of Hollywood and Tokyo. It is the assertion of the author that the Philippines can produce world-class animation for exportation to TV markets in the West, especially now with the advent of computer tools not available just a few years ago. With English language and a keen understanding of American if not Western culture, Filipino animators and game designers have a distinct advantage over other ASEAN countries when it comes to being able to exploit this field of media production. Animation and computer game design and production call upon a multiplicity of skills from scriptwriting and drawing skills to computer language programming and music/sound effects composition. Schools responding to this call in the survey included National Polytechnic Institute, UE-Caloocan and Manila, and FE's Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts. Ms. Margarita "Midge" K. Manlapig, a guest speaker at the UE-FRASI forum made it abundantly clear that there is a future in the Philippines for animation, and schools should begin rethinking their curricular offerings in light of these potentials. Schools that are able to offer rigorous courses within this realm will attract industry funding and support in many forms such as software and hardware work stations. This is what the Silicon Graphics-level of companies are doing with institutions offering programs in 3-D modeling and animation in the U.S., for example.

The article above clearly says the state of Multimedia in the Philippines. It explains where the Philippines are right now in terms of Technology. We are somehow improving and slowly getting high-tech as years passes by. Also with the help of Multimedia Courses, many Filipinos are enhancing their skills to get in touch with the booming technology and schools offering multimedia courses is responsible for honing these students and seeking professional help of different multimedia professionals. For me, the state of multimedia here is just beginning, we're not there already we were just starting to improve and strive for a more advanced technology. I believe that Filipinos are very talented and skillful I have no doubt that the Philippines will be more known in this industry after several years and right now, there are already lots of amazing Filipino animators and designers.

Philippine Multimedia Industry Today

Multimedia courses are very in demand here in the Philippines that's why there are lots of multimedia companies here. In this industry, you can learn so much and apply what you have learned and make profit out of it. Multimedia is a wide field full with different aspects that will never get old and will always be the talk  not just within the country, but also within the whole world.

Multimedia Industries here in the Philippines are also improving when it comes to doing 3d movies and other visual effects. Although multimedia has many other branches, all of them are working and still progressing here in the Phillipines I believe that in time when more schools offer multimedia courses, our multimedia industry will get noticed and we could also compete with other leading multimedia country like Japan and America.

MMA FULL FORCE!

Last Monday was the general assembly of the whole MMA body. It was so fun and full of different people. The election of officers was fun also. There are lots of freshmen students this year! It was really awesome! And most of them were really talented already. The third year students were there also to give support for their candidates and for second year students also to share experiences with the freshmen students.

We had a very funny pictorial for our class picture, it was really touching to see those freshies because in our case, we were very few compared to them. We are all hoping that next school year, there will be another batch of students that will be one of us who we can share our skills and knowledge with.

I hope that the freshmen students will be more attached to us all so that we can help them and guide them.
Although some of them already know us, still the majority of them didn't approach or even know us when we greet them.

As for the third year students, I am hoping we could bond with each other more often and guide us also.
They are fun to be with, we sometimes make fun of each other and tell silly jokes, sing, dance and all those crazy moments.

I am looking forward to the upcoming events which will test the unity of the whole MMA society and also hoping everyone will participate especially the first year students because they are so many.

The general assembly was full of funny memories and more of it will continue until the next general assembly of MMA society.

CHANGES. CHANGES. CHANGES. IT MADE ME STRONGER.

Okay. Changes, changes, changes. It can mean 2 different actions. It can be for good or for bad. A person changes without no reason. Everything happens for a reason right? So in  my case, I think I really changed A LOT. So here my story goes.

Way back then in High School. I was never an active student. Well yes I am active academically. But when it comes to joining a singing contest? IT'S A NO NO. Ha-ha! I am not that confident with my voice then, I didn't know I had this talent so I just sing for fun and like that.
I don't put much attention to my appearance before. I was like a typical high school student who loves challenges and more challenges. I never settle for less. I always wanted to experience the things I wanted but the problem with me is that I never trust myself that I can do it.

When I first entered college, I told myself I will change and accept challenges and face everything. I would do everything to make it to the best that I can do. And it all started when I joined my one and only cultural group LYCEUM CONCERT SINGERS. Actually I am really thankful that I joined this organization because with the help of the people behind it, I improved myself much better as the days passed by. I have developed my singing skills, I am not afraid to stand and sing in front of many people, communicate with different kinds of people, deal with challenges, face reality, have friends, learn new things and much more.
At first, all I ever think is that I'm going to sing with this group, attend rehearsals and that's it. But I was wrong. There are lots of things in this world that you cannot learn in school and you cannot learn by reading books. There are many different people to deal with and challenges to accept and problems to solve and many more to come.

Those who are with me from the very start and still with me now are the ones who really know who I was then and who I am now. My high school friends, all of them are these people who never fail to make me happy and they are the ones who made me this way. I believe in this saying, "Malalaman mo kung anong tunay nyang pagkatao pag nakasama mo ang mga tunay nyang kaibigan." And now in college I also found the friends that I can lean on and I am so happy I have them in my life.

And of course, my family who made it all possible and guided me through it all . They are my greatest inspiration. And God above all.

Now I am 19 years old and beginning to say goodbye to my teenage years, I would say YES I CHANGED FOR THE BETTER AND I WILL STILL CHANGE FOR THE BEST SOON.
