The Relevance of Multimedia to Marketing

As for a multimedia arts student, marketing is what I need in the future to make money out of my works. I need marketing to manage everything.

I need to market my potential clients and capture value from my clients, my works should meet the needs and wants of my clients, I should have my strategy to attract people to patronize my works and build profitable relationship with them.

Multimedia is always connected to marketing because most of all multimedia arts need audience/buyers/clients. It is necessary to learn the basics of marketing so that I will be able to apply it someday when I am working in the real world. Basically, marketing is building profitable customer relationships by creating value for customers and capturing value in return.

There are also other components of marketing such as advertising, public relations, promotion, publicity and sales and what is the relevance of this to multimedia?

Advertising in multimedia can be useful at the moment of the creation of a multimedia work. Promotion starts when the multimedia work created by the artist began to post it and when he starts to spread it while public relations starts when people react or inquire about the work publicity starts when people continuously suggesting your works to other people and the people themselves make your work popular to everyone and sales is the cultivation of the prospective clients/buyers.

The 3A's of marketing is also relevant to multimedia.

1. Awareness- the artist should inform the people that he exists and inform the public about your products and services.
2. Affordability- the price of the works or services you offer should always be reasonable and affordable to everyone or your services should comply with the kind of quality you serve.
3. Availability- you should have a target audience within the area so that you can be sure of what kind of services is needed in the kind of environment or area you are planning to start your multimedia business.

That's the relevance of multimedia to marketing for me.

We've sensed it. We've seen the signs. Now, It's Happening

Rain. Rain. Rain. There's no need to worry about it? Some of us would say "oh c'mon it's just raining, it won't kill you" well that was before. Raining nowadays have become more aggressive and powerful. WHY?
It is all because of us PEOPLE who doesn't mind cutting down trees and transforming mountains into buildings and subdivisions, We are too busy improving our lives and too busy buying expensive gadgets while  everything around us is slowly dying, our earth is slowly dying! Do we need those gadgets and all if the world we live in is slowly killing us by our own fault? How come we didn't realize that we also make our own lives miserable and we are like killing ourselves too by being selfish. Let's not be blind. Everything was written already we know it's gonna happen, maybe not now but for sure it will. Nobody knows when.

As of what I have heard on the news, there are just only 3% ice remaining on the north pole and I think that is the reason why there are heavy rainstorms and floods going on. Also these wastes people throw everywhere. People are so stubborn yet when something like calamities happen, we seek help for the damages we've done to ourselves and that's really stupid!

Rains now are like typhoons already how much more if it was a typhoon? I couldn't imagine what people would do. Floods, Landslides, Deaths and many more. What else could we offer in exchange of many lives? More mountains to flatten? More trees to burn? More trash to throw? More rivers to throw garbage at? More lives to suffer in exchange for a better and advanced living? If lives could be just like before, everything is simple and reserved. If I were given a chance, I would still want to live in the old days where people are contented with just simple things. People learn to appreciate simple efforts, children play the traditional Filipino games and more.

What do we do on rainy days? We just usually stay inside the house, Text and inform everyone that there's no classes, Watch Tv, Eat a lot and of course sleep. That's what most of us do RIGHT?
But what we should really do?

We should pray, pray and pray. We should think of other things we can do to help those who are in need by means of little things like donating. Be ready for whatever might happen. Help each other. Use these high technology gadgets to inform and help everyone.

But honestly? We can't do anything when nature fights us back. Of course, even us when hurt will fight back and so do our nature and what's more ridiculous is that we are just making our own lives miserable using nature.

EVERYTHING THAT IS BORROWED SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THE OWNER.

Are we In or Out?

Article 2: Animation, Computer Game and Comic Book Design
Perhaps this is an obscure concern to most in educational circles in Metro Manila, but these are the areas "where the money is". As was stated in the UE-FRASI forum, the Philippines has historically served as an offshore "sweatshop" for the animation houses of Hollywood and Tokyo. It is the assertion of the author that the Philippines can produce world-class animation for exportation to TV markets in the West, especially now with the advent of computer tools not available just a few years ago. With English language and a keen understanding of American if not Western culture, Filipino animators and game designers have a distinct advantage over other ASEAN countries when it comes to being able to exploit this field of media production. Animation and computer game design and production call upon a multiplicity of skills from scriptwriting and drawing skills to computer language programming and music/sound effects composition. Schools responding to this call in the survey included National Polytechnic Institute, UE-Caloocan and Manila, and FE's Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts. Ms. Margarita "Midge" K. Manlapig, a guest speaker at the UE-FRASI forum made it abundantly clear that there is a future in the Philippines for animation, and schools should begin rethinking their curricular offerings in light of these potentials. Schools that are able to offer rigorous courses within this realm will attract industry funding and support in many forms such as software and hardware work stations. This is what the Silicon Graphics-level of companies are doing with institutions offering programs in 3-D modeling and animation in the U.S., for example.

The article above clearly says the state of Multimedia in the Philippines. It explains where the Philippines are right now in terms of Technology. We are somehow improving and slowly getting high-tech as years passes by. Also with the help of Multimedia Courses, many Filipinos are enhancing their skills to get in touch with the booming technology and schools offering multimedia courses is responsible for honing these students and seeking professional help of different multimedia professionals. For me, the state of multimedia here is just beginning, we're not there already we were just starting to improve and strive for a more advanced technology. I believe that Filipinos are very talented and skillful I have no doubt that the Philippines will be more known in this industry after several years and right now, there are already lots of amazing Filipino animators and designers.

Philippine Multimedia Industry Today

Multimedia courses are very in demand here in the Philippines that's why there are lots of multimedia companies here. In this industry, you can learn so much and apply what you have learned and make profit out of it. Multimedia is a wide field full with different aspects that will never get old and will always be the talk  not just within the country, but also within the whole world.

Multimedia Industries here in the Philippines are also improving when it comes to doing 3d movies and other visual effects. Although multimedia has many other branches, all of them are working and still progressing here in the Phillipines I believe that in time when more schools offer multimedia courses, our multimedia industry will get noticed and we could also compete with other leading multimedia country like Japan and America.

MMA FULL FORCE!

Last Monday was the general assembly of the whole MMA body. It was so fun and full of different people. The election of officers was fun also. There are lots of freshmen students this year! It was really awesome! And most of them were really talented already. The third year students were there also to give support for their candidates and for second year students also to share experiences with the freshmen students.

We had a very funny pictorial for our class picture, it was really touching to see those freshies because in our case, we were very few compared to them. We are all hoping that next school year, there will be another batch of students that will be one of us who we can share our skills and knowledge with.

I hope that the freshmen students will be more attached to us all so that we can help them and guide them.
Although some of them already know us, still the majority of them didn't approach or even know us when we greet them.

As for the third year students, I am hoping we could bond with each other more often and guide us also.
They are fun to be with, we sometimes make fun of each other and tell silly jokes, sing, dance and all those crazy moments.

I am looking forward to the upcoming events which will test the unity of the whole MMA society and also hoping everyone will participate especially the first year students because they are so many.

The general assembly was full of funny memories and more of it will continue until the next general assembly of MMA society.

CHANGES. CHANGES. CHANGES. IT MADE ME STRONGER.

Okay. Changes, changes, changes. It can mean 2 different actions. It can be for good or for bad. A person changes without no reason. Everything happens for a reason right? So in  my case, I think I really changed A LOT. So here my story goes.

Way back then in High School. I was never an active student. Well yes I am active academically. But when it comes to joining a singing contest? IT'S A NO NO. Ha-ha! I am not that confident with my voice then, I didn't know I had this talent so I just sing for fun and like that.
I don't put much attention to my appearance before. I was like a typical high school student who loves challenges and more challenges. I never settle for less. I always wanted to experience the things I wanted but the problem with me is that I never trust myself that I can do it.

When I first entered college, I told myself I will change and accept challenges and face everything. I would do everything to make it to the best that I can do. And it all started when I joined my one and only cultural group LYCEUM CONCERT SINGERS. Actually I am really thankful that I joined this organization because with the help of the people behind it, I improved myself much better as the days passed by. I have developed my singing skills, I am not afraid to stand and sing in front of many people, communicate with different kinds of people, deal with challenges, face reality, have friends, learn new things and much more.
At first, all I ever think is that I'm going to sing with this group, attend rehearsals and that's it. But I was wrong. There are lots of things in this world that you cannot learn in school and you cannot learn by reading books. There are many different people to deal with and challenges to accept and problems to solve and many more to come.

Those who are with me from the very start and still with me now are the ones who really know who I was then and who I am now. My high school friends, all of them are these people who never fail to make me happy and they are the ones who made me this way. I believe in this saying, "Malalaman mo kung anong tunay nyang pagkatao pag nakasama mo ang mga tunay nyang kaibigan." And now in college I also found the friends that I can lean on and I am so happy I have them in my life.

And of course, my family who made it all possible and guided me through it all . They are my greatest inspiration. And God above all.

Now I am 19 years old and beginning to say goodbye to my teenage years, I would say YES I CHANGED FOR THE BETTER AND I WILL STILL CHANGE FOR THE BEST SOON.

The importance of Adobe Bridge

Basically Adobe Bridge is an Adobe software that manages and organizes files on your computer. Adobe Bridge has many features in which you can also edit images like in Adobe Photoshop but of course some features are not available and limited to some basic editing tools.
Personally, I don't like my files scattered all around my desktop so I organize them by creating folders and sorting my files so that I can find the files I need faster.

Adobe Bridge has a lot of cool stuffs that can make your organized files fun like by rating them with stars and  filtering them by their own keywords. It is easy to understand and Adobe Bridge automatically arranges your files to make your daily tasks easy. Also it has plug-ins that you can use to send works directly from any Adobe software specially in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, After effects and many more.

This software is important especially for artists, photographers and animators who usually stores large files and tons of images and videos. Adobe Bridge is the best software to use to organize files.
